The
CMS screens have been purpose designed to offer a clear and simple method
of
controlling the entertainment and cabin systems of the aircraft. The pages
can be
redefined and modelled to suit particular aircraft requirements, additional
functionality
or changes inthe aircraft systems can be added through software, without
reworking
traditionally expensive switch panels and cabinetry.
The unit is available in two formats; an LCD touch screen assembly for
bulkhead
mounting with a front bezel which can be finished to a customers requirements,
or an arm mounted version. The latter offers the ultimate in functionality
and control,
and when used as a personal monitor enables the user to expand the picture
to full
screen size by touching the video preview window twice.
Both versions work in conjunction with an underseat or remotely sited
control unit
“CMS Processor”. Page Structure - A top menu page identifies
the general grouped
functions that feature in the system.
For example: Entertainment source selection, Cabin speaker control, Cabin
lighting,
Galley equipment. Lower menu pages enable the operator to make further
detailed
selections i.e.a selected source, dependant on aircraft configuration,
may be directed
to single or multiple cabin monitors or a speaker system. As with all
the pages, this
can be configured to suit the particular aircraft or customers requirements.
Operation
of other functions, such as cabin lighting, can be actioned in the same
way.
The scope
of operation is not limited to those functions listed above. A Cabin
Attendant Call screen can also be included for the bulkhead version. A
graphic
of the cabin or aircraft layouts is displayed and when an attendant call
request is
made the corresponding seat icon will flash in order of priority, moving
to the next
seat icon when cleared.
